Another Double First.
Last month at Killarney Raceway, in Cape Town, Craig Harper drove his Type 5 to another double win in Class E. The car was sporting a new development that has resulted in more grip and has resulted in a new Personal best lap time of 1:27,2 0,78 sec faster than the class limit. This means that Craig will be racing in the next class at the forthcoming event.
The big news is that at the next event at Killarney Raceway, we hope to be treated to the first time spectacle of two Type 5’s racing each other. Stephen David has almost finished preparing his car and only a gearbox problem in practice prevented him from racing his car. He has some new aero developments on his car and it will be interesting to see how it goes. Stephen is a very experienced racing driver and should pilot his Type 5 well.
Up coming Events:
Apart from the Sports and GT series at Killarney, we hope to enter the Type 5 in the upcoming Knysna Speed Weekend, to be held on the last weekend of October 2009. This will be a 1.8km hill climb through Simola Golf estate and will cover two consecutive days. It should be an exciting and fun weekend with lots to do for the whole family.
We have also our sights set on the Endurance Races in East London and Port Elizabeth later this year as well as events inland. It’s time the Type 5 was shown to the folks in Gauteng.
Please watch this space for further developments.
